Hearing Loss & Getting Help
Hearing loss can occur at any age, but it becomes significantly more common after 60. In fact, one in two people over 60 have some degree of hearing loss that would benefit from treatment.
Yes. Untreated hearing loss can lead to increased social isolation, communication difficulties, and cognitive strain. Addressing it early leads to better outcomes.
No referral is needed. Walk-ins are welcome, though calling ahead is always appreciated.
Common signs include frequently asking people to repeat themselves, difficulty following conversations in noisy environments, turning up the TV louder than others prefer, or feeling like people are mumbling. The best way to know for certain is a free hearing test — no appointment necessary.
Not at all. A hearing evaluation at Stone’s is simple, non-invasive, and completely free.

Hearing Aids & Technology
Yes. Rechargeable options are available, eliminating the need for small disposable batteries.
Yes. Many of our hearing aids offer Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to stream audio directly from your phone, TV, or other devices.
Most hearing aids last between three and five years with proper care and maintenance, though many of our patients get even longer life from theirs with regular servicing.
Prescription hearing aids are professionally fitted and programmed specifically to your hearing loss profile. Over-the-counter devices are one-size-fits-all and lack the customization that makes a real difference in day-to-day hearing. At Stone’s, we only fit prescription hearing aids.
We work primarily with Starkey Hearing Technologies, one of the world’s leading hearing aid manufacturers, headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Starkey has been at the forefront of hearing aid innovation for decades, and their products represent the best in prescription hearing aid technology. You can learn more about Starkey at starkey.com.
